Network Services at Confederation College (Computer Services)

Description:

Confederation College maintains a network that connects approximately 2,000 computer workstations to various services on our local area network. Accounts to access the network are automatically created for you when you become a student or staff member at Confederation College.

There are three primary network services at Confederation College:

  1. local area network,
  2. wireless network and
  3. virtual private network.

The local area network connects all of the computers at Confederation College together so that they can access services. When you use a computer at the College you will be using the local area network. The wireless network is accessed using your laptop computer, iPod, iPad, or any other wireless device that is capable of connecting to an 802.11ABG or N wireless network. The virtual private network is used by authorized employees to access some of the College resources from home in a manner similar to the way they access the resource when physically at Confederation College.

Who is it for:

Most of the network services are available to all students and employees at Confederation College. Some services, like the virtual private network, are reserved for authorized employees only.

How do I use it:

Accounts to access our networked services are automatically created for you based on information you provided to our Banner ERP system when you registered at Confederation College. Specifics on accessing services can be obtained by talking with your instructor, or by contacting the Confederation College Help Desk at 475-6488 (ext. 6488), or email them at [email protected]
