Preferred PC Computer Vendor (Computer Services)
Service Description
Confederation College has two preferred PC vendors selected for supplying and supporting the majority of its PC (desktops, laptops, and tablets) fleet at the College – including for staff/department offices as well as for student computing labs:
1) Dell Canada - was selected through a competitive procurement process through the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) purchasing consortium. Dell Canada provides the majority of PC devices at the College.
2) Apple Canada – is the sole vendor used for purchasing Mac PC’s and other Apple computing devices. Mac computers are purchased/used in some of the College’s student computing labs.
The procurement agreements with these two preferred PC vendors allows the College many benefits including:
- Competitive pricing on selected standard configuration PC hardware models.
- 3 year full onsite warranty repair services on all standard configuration PC models.
- Standardization on a selected number PC desktops and laptops allows for the Computer Services department to easily support software images for these PC’s.
Who Can Use This Service
Only College staff and faculty may use purchase PC’s through the College’s preferred PC vendors listed above.
Access and Availability
Purchasing of all PC devices to be used at the College are done through the Computer Services Help Desk. Please contact the Help Desk at 475-6488 or by e-mail at [email protected] for more information or if you wish to purchase a PC from one of the College’s preferred PC vendors.
