Premier's Award Nomination Details
Here are some additional details regarding nominating Confederation College alumni for a Premier's Award:
Selection Criteria
Chosen from nominations submitted by Ontario's 24 colleges, nominees demonstrate outstanding career success related to their college experience and have made a significant contribution to their community. The individual's career achievements will be given top priority.
Eligibility
Any graduate of a college program may be nominated. The person must have demonstrated outstanding career success as well as contribution to their community or society. Colleges may nominate only one graduate in each category. There is no limit to the number of times a graduate can be nominated over the years.
*Recent Graduate Category
Graduates of any college program within the last five years are eligible for nomination in the Recent Graduate category. Since graduating, nominees will have demonstrated promising career success and contribution to their community and society.
Candidate Search
Cultivate an ongoing awareness for searching out graduates within your college and approach your college community for leads. Many colleges promote the Premier's Awards for Ontario College Graduates in their Alumni magazine, local community media (paid and public service announcements), and college website.
Selection Panel
All nominations are judged by a panel of experts in the fields of business, community services, creative arts and design, health sciences, technology, and recent graduate. Six recipients will be awarded, one in each category.
Recognition for Recipients
Premier's Awards for Ontario College Graduates recipients (6) receive a bronze medal and a framed certificate signed by the Premier of Ontario, and direct a five thousand dollar bursary to their graduating college. The medal and certificate are presented at the annual Awards ceremony each November.
Recognition for Nominees
Premier's Awards for Ontario College Graduates nominees receive a framed certificate of achievement signed by the Premier of Ontario, which is presented at the Awards ceremony. The Nominees' photos along with their 100-word bio will be featured on the Premier's Awards website (www.theCouncil.on.ca)
