COVID-19 & Health Centre Services
Important Notice: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Confederation College’s Health Centre has had to change its service delivery.
In an effort to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, the clinic has adopted new screening policies and procedures as follows:
If you feel you have a medical issue please call (807)- 475-6169 or email us at [email protected]. You will be screened for an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner by telephone or in person.
If you have symptoms related to COVID-19, listed below:
- fever
- cough
- difficulty breathing, or
- traveled internationally in the last 14 days
We ask that you stay home, do not come to the college and contact the Covid-19 Testing Center at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center at (807) 935-8100 or book an appointment online http://tbh.net/bookonline
Our priority is to protect the health and wellness of all of our students, staff and our community, and in this situation surrounding the declared pandemic of corona virus, we are implementing a pandemic plan to keep all as safe as possible from any worsening situation.

To protect yourself and others from illness, please ensure you:
- Wear a mask
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Cough or sneeze into your upper sleave or elbow
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
- Avoid contact with people who are ill
- Maintain social distancing of 6 feet or 2 meters
- Stay home if you are feeling unwell
- It is recommended to get your flu shot if you haven’t already as the flu virus is still circulating in the community
Health Centre Services
Primary care for episodic illness and chronic medical conditions
Wellness examinations
Physicals - annual, 3rd party, ministry of transport, and aviation
Treatment for warts
Birth control prescriptions, free condoms
Sexually transmitted infection screening
Health counseling - i.e.: nutrition, birth control, sexuality, anxiety, stress management, depression
Tuberculin skin testing
Referrals to other physicians or agencies as required
Students supplementary insurance information and claims
Literature on health issues
Employees and immediate family members can be seen for minor illnesses. We encourage them however to maintain the services of their own physician or nurse practitioner for continuity of care.

Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Closed during lunch hour 12:00 pm -1:00 pm
For Emergencies outside the Health Centre and on campus, please call Security at 922
(623-0465 from external phones or cell phones).

Cancellations
If you can not make it to your scheduled appointment, please call the day before or the morning of your appointment to notify us of your cancellation or there will be a $20 charge for missed appointments.
