Orientation for Northshore Campus (Marathon)
Join us for the Northshore Campus Orientation
Tuesday, September 5th!
A New Student Orientation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 1:30pm EST at the Northshore Campus. You will receive a package at the orientation session that will provide you with detailed “need-to-know” information about the campus, about being a Confederation College student and any updates to your timetable. You will learn how to use blackboard and other college systems. Student ID photos will be taken at the orientation and important paperwork completed. We will also be hosting a free student lunch. Please plan to join us for the day’s events.
Please bring your college ID number, username and password when you come to orientation or if you come in for payment and registration assistance prior to.
Textbooks are available through the Follett Bookstore and can be purchased in Thunder Bay or ordered online. Watch your inbox for email messages with step-by-step instructions on how to order or drop into the campus for assistance.
During the week of September 6th, some programs will also have a program specific orientation hosted by the faculty program coordinator. Watch your college email for more information.
For most programs, the first day of classes will be on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022.
Transfer Credits: If you have taken post-secondary courses at another institution, you may be eligible for transfer credits that may exempt you from courses within your program. Your transcript and detailed course outlines will be required, please contact us right away to get this process started.
Remember, tuition must be paid in order to register for your classes. Payments can be made online with a credit or debit card. Registration for classes for full-time students is completed online.
To register:
- Log into MyCampus at https://portal.confederationcollege.ca.
- Enter your Username (e.g. ‘jdoe’ – be sure to type your username in lowercase) and Password provided in your acceptance package.
- Next, select “Banner SSB Information System” (icon of a black laptop) under the ‘LaunchPad’ section.
- Select “Postsecondary Web Registration” and follow the onscreen instructions to complete your registration.

Entrance Awards are open to all full-time students entering into the first semester of a post-secondary program at Confederation College in September 2019. The application is available through the SSB-Confederation College Self Service Banner System.
- Log into MyCampus at https://portal.confederationcollege.ca.
- Enter your Username (e.g. ‘jdoe’ – be sure to type your username in lowercase) and Password provided in your acceptance package.
- Next, select “Banner SSB Information System” (icon of a black laptop) under the ‘LaunchPad’ section.
- Click Answer a Survey
- Click Entrance Award Application 2022
Some applicants may be required to provide supporting documentation. Documents can be submitted to the Financial Aid department by fax (we can do this for you if you bring the documents to the campus office). The deadline for the Entrance Award Applications and submission of any required supporting documentation is September 23, 2022, at 4:30 pm. Award recipients will be notified in writing at the end of September. Funds will be applied to the student’s account in the event that fees are outstanding. Awards cannot be deferred or transferred.
