Mino-bimaadiziwin is a holistic worldview that sees all things as interconnected and captures the concept of balancing the four dimensions of health: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person`s well-being. In keeping with this philosophy, this course is designed to provide foundational information on a broad range of interconnected health related topics. Topics will include nutrition, meal planning, fitness, body image, personal care and hygiene, gender and sexuality, sexual health, mental health, substance use and abuse, healthy relationships, and spirituality. The students will be involved in a variety of activities to encourage navigating new or different ways to enhance their lifestyles, building on what a good life means for them. A variety of mainstream and Indigenous college and community resources that promote the different aspects of a healthy lifestyle will be explored. |
