Passing of Retiree

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dick Botsford, former Student Success Advisor for the Rainy River District Campus. Dick had recently retired from his position to deal with an unexpected illness.  

After retiring in 2012 from a career as a well-respected teacher of 32 years, Dick started with the College in 2012 as a First Generation Coach. Dick’s contribution to the campus was wide-ranging. As the SSA, he was patient and kind with our students, providing them with the support they needed to succeed. As a team member, he was always willing to do what needed to get done, be it supporting faculty with Blackboard questions, working with the Helpdesk to troubleshoot computer issues, or moving furniture or equipment to accommodate campus activity. Dick had the ability to make everyone feel welcome with his caring presence and dry sense of humor. 

We will all miss him more than words can express. Our deepest condolences to Wanda and family.
