NEW! Confederation College is now offering a new system called ‘Splashtop’ that will allow students as well as faculty the ability to remotely connect to College-owned lab computers in order to perform their school work.

By using the Splashtop system, students/faculty can connect to an actual College computer and use both the hardware, as well as software of that computer. This will allow students to use specialty software like the AutoCAD suite, CATIA, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, GIS software, etc., that students may not have access to on their personal devices. Further, by using Splashtop on a College computer, students that do not have the proper hardware on their personal computer to effectively run some of these software programs, will now be able to use these programs properly for their schoolwork. Students can even use a Windows-based PC computer to connect to a Mac computer, (or vice versa).

Lee Johnson from Computer Services is offering a 1-hour introduction to Splashtop for faculty who are perhaps interested in using the platform for teaching this school year. The session will take place at 1:30 pm on Friday. Please register at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/introduction-to-splashtop-tickets-119174643567
