I grew up in Atikokan, and, perhaps a little predictably, love to hunt, fish, camp, and hike. I also love country music. Northwestern Ontario is my home, so it was only natural that I went to Lakehead University. After 8 years, I received my undergraduate degree in math, my teaching certificate, and then my Master of Science degree. My master’s thesis focus was on Superconductivity and the Ginzburg-Landau Equation - HOW FUN!

I have loved math from the moment I realized the world was full of shapes, patterns, and solvable problems. I know not everyone loves math the way that I do, but I am very passionate about it and love helping students by inspiring them the same way that my teachers inspired me.  I have had a lot of amazing teachers throughout my academic journey, and I have taken bits and pieces from each of them to help me become a better version of myself, and a better teacher. A huge part of teaching is knowing that it is ok to make mistake - and in math, we will make many! I still make mistakes every day, and I like that this shows my students that I am still learning too.  I hope to inspire them to love math as much as I do.

I live in Thunder Bay now with my partner, our dog, and our little boy, who sees the world through fresh eyes and is full of wonder. While I get a LOT less sleep than I used to, my son is the best thing that has ever happened in my life. Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches run a close second. (Trust me. Try one!)

I look forward to working with you and watching you achieve your goals.
