Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) (Student Success Centre)

Is the CCR mandatory?

The CCR is not mandatory, but it is an awesome opportunity to have activities beyond the classroom recorded by Confederation College in an official document.

How do I access the CCR?

Students will use their existing log-in information and will be able to access the portal by visiting: https://ccr.confederationc.on.ca/home.htm A link will also be made available on the Confederation College portal for easy access.

What is the criteria for the inclusion of activities into the CCR?

The activity must have a clear attachment to Confederation College with a recognized staff person who is able to validate the activity. The activity must have validation requirements, i.e. criteria students must complete in order to have their position validated. The activity’s positions must be able to be connected to intentional competencies/skills as provided in the database. The activity must provide an opportunity for active engagement for the students involved in it (for example, positions or activities that merely symbolize a student holding a title but not actually following through with programming/ duties/ etc. will not qualify to be added).

What if students do not see an activity in the database that they would like added to their CCR?

If a student wishes to have an activity added to the CCR database, they can suggest an activity, validator, and competencies to be added once they login. New activities will be reviewed for consideration.

Can activities be added retroactively to the CCR?

No. The CCR will not be retroactive, and all activities must be added during the same academic year in which the activity was completed. The first year activities that are eligible to be added to a student’s CCR is from the 2016-2017 academic year.

What happens with the CCR once a student graduates?

Students will be able to access their co-curricular records as alumni after they have graduated from Confederation College by using their student log-in information.

Are co-op and workplace activities included in the CCR?

No. Activities in the database are not reflective of program curriculum in which they would be given academic credit. Activities in the CCR are non-paid or volunteer positions; or positions where a small stipend may be provided to the student for a specific activity (i.e. SUCCI/OASA board members).
