We are pleased to announce that Robin Gould has accepted the position of Director, Facilities Services.

Robin was born and raised in Thunder Bay, graduated from Confederation College in 1995 with a diploma in Architectural Technologist Program and then from Lakehead University in 2001 with a degree in Engineering (Chemical).

Her work experience began in the Physical Resources department at Confederation College and Campus Development at Lakehead University in various capacities as a construction technologist through her post secondary education including a period of full-time employment.

After graduating from Lakehead, she was employed by Kimberly Clark in Terrace Bay for five years, starting in process engineering and moving into managing the Pulp Machine Department.  She returned to her hometown in 2005 to Resolute (Bowater) as Pulp Machine Superintendent.  After a 5-year term, she moved into project management with SNC Lavalin, gaining her Project Management Designation.

An opportunity to explore project management in health care with the Community Care Access Centre, where she again took on an operations management position leading to an interim director role in the last 9 months during COVID.

So, to recap, Architectural Technologist with a Chemical Engineering degree and Project Management Professional who has worked in construction, pulp and paper manufacturing and health care.  When asked what all this has in common, Robin’s response is people, processes, and Thunder Bay.  She credits her success to date from building relationships, appreciating processes, continuous learning and working hard in great teams.

As a alumni and past employee, when she recently walked around the campus, she expressed a strong sense of pride at such a great environment and excitement to be a member of this great organization and team.

Of course, she is cognizant of the importance of a work to life balance.  Throughout the year, you can find her with her family Kirk, stepson Evan and two dogs Alex and Molly enjoying camp time fishing or hunting, renovating their home and when COVID is done getting together with family and friends again.

Please help me in welcoming Robin to Confederation College.
