This summer will see a change with the Associate Dean role of Engineering Technology in the McIntyre Building.

Please join me in Congratulating Troy Mangatal (currently serving as Associate Dean) on accepting his new role as Director, Computer Services and Project Management while at the same time welcoming Riley Burton as the incoming Associate Dean for Engineering Technology.

Riley is currently serving as Associate Dean in the School of Business, Hospitality, and Media Arts. The change will take effect later in August. A competition for the Associate Dean position in the School of Business will be posted soon.

Riley has held various roles at Confederation College since 2007 including contract faculty, support staff and various management roles. He has a master’s degree from Royal Roads University, an undergraduate degree in Forestry from Lakehead University and is a certified Project Management Professional. Riley currently serves as the OCASA appointed representative on the Sponsors’ Committee of the CAAT Pension Plan and has held various other volunteer roles both within the College system and in the community including with the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, Confederation College Board of Governors and the Ontario College Administrative Staff Association.

One of Riley’s previous positions at Confederation College was as Associate Dean for Engineering Technology. We look forward to welcoming Riley back on board with the McIntyre team, and tapping into his many years of experience administering different College functions.
