Welcome Kim Daynard - New Director of Corporate Communications

Kim Daynard began her career at the Toronto Star, and was part of a team that oversaw the newspaper’s inaugural transition to electronic media. Following that, as media manager and spokesperson at Sears Canada, Kim arranged publicity for Martha Stewart and helped launch her Everyday brand in Canada.

For over a decade, Kim worked as the Director of Communications at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM), where she helped to develop communications and engagement strategies to support socially accountable medical education and research that aims to improve the health of the people living in the diverse communities across Northern Ontario.

Most recently, Kim acted as the Director of Corporate Communications and Strategy Management the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), where she oversaw communication strategies, issues management and strategic planning in the service of public safety.

Kim has taught public relations, media relations and crises communications at several postsecondary institutions, as well as at the Provincial Police Academy.  

An accredited (APR) member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS), Kim holds a Master of Arts Degree from York University, a Master’s Certificate from the Schulich School of Business, and an Honours Bachelor’s Degree from Queen's University.
