Continuing Education is happy to have Gina Ciponi join the college in her new role as the Continuing Education Assistant.

Gina came to Thunder Bay from Nova Scotia in 2007 to visit the college. She was considering a few colleges in Ontario and Confederation College was on her list. On the flight from Toronto to Thunder Bay she casually met a woman who introduced herself as Pat. They chatted for almost 3 hours as their plane was delayed due to weather conditions. While chatting, Pat offered to secure accommodations for Gina and even offered her a ride from the airport to her hotel so she wouldn’t have to pay for a cab. She also booked a tour of the college so Gina would have firsthand knowledge of the entire campus. Gina was shocked at how kind and generous Pat was and thought that Thunder Bay must be the friendliest city in Canada! When the plane finally landed in Thunder Bay, Gina asked what position Pat held at the college; was she faculty or administrative? Pat just smiled and said, “No, I’m actually the president”!

Gina went on to complete the Social Service Worker program here at Confederation College and has worked in social services for the last 12 years.  She is now back at the college working Part-Time as a Continuing Education Assistant.
