Welcome Darcy - Director of Student Success

Please join me in welcoming Darcy McWhirter to Confederation College as our new Director of Student Success!

Darcy comes to us with over 18 years experience in health care, and has spent the last 10 years in management. Darcy holds a Masters in Public Health, is a Certified Health Executive, and has focused her career in Mental Health and Addiction Care. At multiple levels, she recognizes the impact of multi-faceted care on success, which blends nicely with the services offered in Student Success. 

Darcy believes in knowledge seeking and skill development, and works very hard to ensure there is opportunity to combine both to become innovative and truly informed. Darcy has spent her entire career helping to shape success for individuals, teams, programs and partnerships – assessing situations and then creating and implementing plans for success – which she does with pride.

Most recently, Darcy was the Clinical Manager for the Crisis and Outreach teams at St. Josephs Care Group with included a regional lead role, and as such, is well versed in understanding the unique regional complexities and capacities.  Darcy is passionate about leadership and values the role Confederation College plays in creating bright futures for our students!

What stood out to me the most as I interviewed Darcy and got to know her is just how approachable and caring she is.  I know that she will be a tremendous addition to our Student Success team and will continue to support the amazing staff there who support our students every day.
