Update: Facilities Shuniah East Sewer Line Work

Good News! We have elevated the immediate concerns with the sewer backing up.  The east washrooms have been reopened and we are back to regular operations.  We will continue to monitor closely over the coming months for other blockages.

Our investigation showed a previous repair that is beginning to fail and some pipe deterioration. We are preparing for exterior sewer line repairs to be completed this summer.

Reminder: Toilet paper is the only product that should be flushed down a toilet. Paper towel, hygiene or baby wipes, masks, gloves, diapers, and feminine hygiene products are NOT to be flushed. All of these items that have caused and will cause sewer lines to plug. Please place them into the garbage receptacles.
