Truth and Reconciliation Day week take place from September 26 to September 30. Confederation College recommends that staff and students show support by attending an on-campus event and by wearing an orange shirt, article of clothing or ribbon.

Indigenous leader Bob Joseph said that Reconciliation is about “working towards solidarity as a society and country,” it is “the responsibility of every Canadian” and that Orange Shirt Day is a time for us to learn about and reflect on “inter-generational impacts of colonization, attempts at assimilation and cultural genocide.” Standing in solidarity with Indigenous peoples on Orange Shirt Day, shows compassion, support for sharing the truth and a desire to build a better future for all Canadians.
