Turn your trash into someone else’s treasure!

Have you ever wondered what to do with those items lying around your house that you no longer need? Well, look no further! SUCCI and Campus Sustainability present Trash to Treasure Day to give your unwanted items a new lease on life.

Date: Monday, September 11th

Time: All Day

Location: Shuniah Student Commons

How It Works:

  1. Declutter your Items: Clean out your storage areas and kitchen to find items that are still in good condition but no longer serve you.
  2. Bring Your Treasures: Bring in your gently used items to the Shuniah Student Commons by 9:30 am. Items can include home décor, kitchenware, electronics, books, and more.
  3. Discover New Gems: The College community will have the day to browse and take home the diverse selection of items brought in for free.
  4. Donate the Rest: Any treasures that remain on Tuesday, September 12 will be donated to a local community organization to help others.

Trash to Treasure celebrates the joy of reusing, repurposing, and rediscovering the magic of everyday items. This event supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG #1 – No Poverty and SDG #12 – Responsible Production and Consumption by providing items to anyone in our college community who needs them and extending the life of treasures in a new home!

NOTE: A Clothing Drive will be held later this fall, please reserve clothing donations until this time.
