Phishing Campaign Targets Recent Grads

CanSSOC (the Canadian Shared Security Operations Centre) sent an advisory this week to the higher education community regarding a phishing scam targeting multiple universities and colleges. Students at these institutions received e-mail congratulating them on their graduation, and offered paid internships as a next step in their career.  Although there were no malicious links or malware attached to the e-mail, the students were asked to forward resumes via e-mail  to be considered.  The information contained in a resume is a gold mine for cyber criminals that could be used  for a variety of purposes.  The lesson here is to be wary of sharing your information to an unknown entity or unsolicited e-mail.  Check it out before you respond!
