2nd-year Primary Care Paramedic students will be starting their 4th semester on Monday, and will begin hospital and ambulance field placements.  In order to perform Controlled Medical Acts, such as medication administration etc., while out on placement, paramedic students must obtain Academic Certification for practice.  This involves the completion of learning modules, followed by seven practical simulation scenarios with the paramedic certifying body, Northwest Region Pre-Hospital Care Program, and is extremely challenging.  On January 4th and 5th, 2023, 15 of 15 (100%) of eligible Paramedic Program students were successful in obtaining Academic Certification.  Paramedic Program faculty are extremely proud of the Primary Care Paramedic students and we wish them all the best while they are out on placement.
