In our continued effort to provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for all students, employees, community partners and visitors, we are excited to introduce a new marketing and communications initiative to promote diversity and inclusion on campus. The I See Me at Confederation College initiative will seek to:

  • highlight and celebrate the diverse backgrounds and experiences of students and employees
  • promote opportunities for education surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion
  • be a visual reminder of our commitment to ensuring all members of our College community feel represented in our policies, facilities and activities
  • bring awareness to key initiatives and campaigns at the College that help to advance this work

In essence, we want you to see yourself reflected back at you when you engage with Confederation College

To kick things off, we are pleased to announce that a committee has been established to review the use and gendering of our washrooms and change rooms to create a more inclusive environment across all of our campuses. This work has just begun and we will be seeking input from the College community as we move forward with this project.

We are currently seeking transgender/non-binary voices to contribute to the conversation and provide their perspective to the Gender Inclusive Facilities Committee, with a commitment of one hour every two weeks to join committee meetings. Interested students and/or employees from any campus location can contact Anne Renaud for more information and to identify interest in joining the committee. Email her at [email protected].
