This session is being facilitated by Desiree Philips and a description of the session is below.

"This session will explore the concepts of race and racism in both historical and contemporary contexts. Participants will examine racism as it manifests at both the systemic and individual levels within society and the institution. Participants will examine microaggressions in their various forms and will discuss the underlying biases and beliefs that are conveyed. Participants will also discuss the various impacts and outcomes that are produced when racism is left unaddressed. Strategies for practicing anti-racism will be introduced to equipped participants with tools to create a culture of anti-racism within their personal and professional spaces."
