Upcoming Lunch and Learn Sessions
This session will provide an overview of key design principles that will improve the learnability of your content. The focus will be on reviewing a few important learning principles, elements of design, and techniques for writing in a digital age. Participants will have the chance to makeover a few PowerPoint slides according to these design principles. We will also explore how to design and re-purpose your PowerPoint learning content as both presentations and learning notes.
Foundations of Accessibility for Digital Materials – November 24th @ 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST
With Ontario’s commitment to be a fully accessible province by 2025 through the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), knowing how to create accessible learning materials is crucial! Creating and providing accessible materials is about inclusion, equity and social responsibility. This session will review the WCAG accessibility guidelines and AODA requirements applicable to creating digital content. You will learn the fundamentals of creating accessible materials and walk away with strategies and a toolbox full of apps and resources to help with making your content accessible. Please note: This session focuses on text and image content and will not be covering video content.
