We would like to congratulate our Community Rehabilitation Worker graduates on completing this program!  Students from Sandy Lake First Nation, North Caribou Lake First Nation, Eabametoong First Nation and Bearskin Lake First Nation have worked very hard to be our first graduates.  This program was led by 8 partners and funded by Indigenous Services Canada - First Nation and Inuit Home and Community Care.  The Community Rehabilitation Worker program trained students to support rehabilitation needs in their communities while rehabilitation professionals are not in the communities.  Community Rehabilitation Workers work with home care teams to assist clients with exercise, assistive devices, home safety, as well as ensure that patients follow through with their care plans provided by rehabilitation professionals.

Students began their studies in March and have traveled across the Northwest to learn rehabilitation principles and practical skills.  They are in training one week a month and then return to their home communities for three weeks to practice their rehabilitation skills with their clients.  Six students will be graduating November 25, 2022.  We wish our graduates all the best in the future!
