The City of Thunder Bay’s Anti-Racism & Equity Committee, Diversity Thunder Bay and the Chronicle Journal have been running a monthly column, “One City, Many Voices” (“OCMV”), since 2012. The purpose of the column is to invite community members to share Equity, Diversity and Inclusion issues, perspectives, insights and reflective personal stories.

This year marks the OCMV column’s 10th anniversary. To celebrate, Lakehead University’s Office of Research Services and the Office of Human Rights and Equity are collaborating with Diversity Thunder Bay, the City of Thunder Bay’s Anti-Racism and Equity Committee, Confederation College, the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Chronicle Journal to host an event to celebrate its authors and their contributions.

The event will be taking place on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Lakehead University Faculty Lounge. Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.

Past contributors from Confederation College include:

  • October 2021 – “Reconciliation is a Process” by Tiffany Miller
  • July 2021 – “Microaggressions Are a Big Deal” by Serena Dykstra
  • June 2021 – “Keep Exploring Indigenous History Throughout the Year” by Geraldine Kakeeway
  • June 2021 – “Indigenous People Hold Unique Place in Multicultural Society” by Lisa Schmidt
  • April 2020 – “There Will Always Be Newcomers” by Miriam Wall

We hope to see you all there!
