Campus Watch is back!
Students and employees can request Campus Watch services by calling 922 from a College phone or (807) 623-0465 or by visiting the Security Office on the main floor of the Shuniah Building across from the Hub.
What is Campus Watch?
The Confederation College Campus Watch Program is a student volunteer program at the Thunder Bay campus that aims to make everyone on campus feel safe and comfortable after regular operating hours and sometimes during regular hours. Campus Watch volunteers are not Security Guards but work with them as part of the Public Safety team.
The Campus Watch Program offers three services:
Safe Walk Services
The Safe Walk Service is in place for individuals who wish to be accompanied while walking on campus. This can be to a vehicle, a bus stop, residence or to the edge of campus. The volunteers will join you on your walk so you don’t have to go alone. They are also available to assist with any accessibility issues.
Walk By Services
The Walk By Service is in place for individuals who are on campus after hours and wish to be periodically checked on by Campus Watch volunteers. You can use this service if you are studying or doing work on campus, having a club/chapter meeting or hanging out with friends. Campus Watch volunteers will check in however often you would like to ensure you feel safe and comfortable.
Campus Watch Patrols
Campus Watch volunteers carry out frequent patrols of the campus to ensure that nothing is unsafe and to address any health and safety concerns they may find. If you notice something out of the ordinary, please contact Campus Security at 922 from a College phone or (807) 623-0465 to report.
Volunteers can be found on campus and will be identifiable by their blue or green T-shirts with the Confederation College logo on the front and the Campus Watch logo on the back, or they can be reached by calling the Security office at 922 from a College phone or (807) 623-0465.
