Fundraising is an integral part of operations for not for profits and charities across Canada as a they support initiatives based on community needs. During the winter semester, 2nd year Business Marketing students undertook a course-based project where they implemented Canadian Newcomer Night with the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

Through the course of this class, students worked with the Kam Rive Fighting Walleye to develop the fundraising plan, prepare a list of prospective donors to solicit, and engage in making ‘asks’ to these prospects. Students successfully met their fundraising goal of $535.00 to donate to their charity of choice, Our Kids Count.
