The meaning of Valentine’s Day was forever changed for Sharon Johnson, when on February 13, 1992, her 18-year-old sister, Sandra Kaye Johnson, was found murdered on the frozen Neebing-McIntyre floodway. Since then, Sharon Johnson began the work of honouring and remembering MMIWG in our communities.

Please join Elder Ina Commando, Sharon Johnson, and the students from the  Child and Youth Care Indigenous Specialization program for the 15th Annual Valentine's Day Memorial Walk, as we remember and honour missing and murdered Indigenous peoples.

Opening ceremony begins at noon, through Facebook live.
