Institution Quality Assurance
Introduction and Overview of CQAAP
Every five years, Confederation College participates in an institutional audit known as the College Quality Assurance Audit Process (CQAAP). This province-wide process, conducted by the Ontario College Quality Assurance Service (OCQAS), ensures that all 24 Ontario colleges apply consistent and effective quality assurance practices.
The CQAAP is a cyclical review designed to assess and strengthen each college’s quality assurance systems, ensuring they continue to evolve and improve over time.
At Confederation College, the Academic Quality Assurance Team oversees this process, evaluating the effectiveness of our internal systems and ensuring that our policies, procedures, and practices align with the standards established by OCQAS:
- Standard 1: Program Quality Management System
- Standard 2: Vocational Learning Outcomes at the Centre of Program Development
- Standard 3: Conformity with Government Requirements
- Standard 4: Program Delivery and Student Assessment
- Standard 5: Policies and Practices that Support Academic Quality
- Standard 6: Availability and Allocation of College-Wide Resources
Each standard includes detailed requirements that guide how we assess, maintain, and enhance our academic quality systems.
Our Commitment to Excellence
The CQAAP provides an opportunity for Confederation College to reaffirm our commitment to quality education and our mission to educate students for career success.
Through this process, we review our quality practices, strengthen areas for improvement, and ensure that we continue to provide an exceptional learning experience for our students—one that benefits graduates, employers, and our entire college community.
