Program Renewal: CPR and APR
In accordance with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities’ Binding Policy Directive: Framework for Programs of Instruction, colleges are required to regularly review their academic programs to ensure they remain high-quality, relevant, and current. At Confederation College, this is achieved through two key processes: the Annual Program Review (APR) and the Comprehensive Program Review (CPR).
The Annual Program Review (APR) is an internal, cyclical process that evaluates a program’s alignment with institutional goals, curriculum quality, student outcomes, and overall effectiveness.
The Comprehensive Program Review (CPR) is a more in-depth and systematic evaluation conducted approximately every five to seven years. It assesses program quality, effectiveness, goal alignment, and opportunities for improvement using both qualitative and quantitative data.
Throughout the Comprehensive Program Review (CPR) process, the Academic Quality Assurance Team collaborates closely with Program Coordinators, Faculty, and Associate Deans to ensure the review leads to meaningful outcomes and supports continuous improvement.
