Sustainability

Sustainability is

”Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

United Nations Brundtland Commission

Campus Sustainability oversees the implementation and integration of sustainability initiatives and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across campus. We strive to support staff and students in integrating sustainability into their time on campus through events, education, and operational changes that support an overarching culture of sustainability at Confederation College.

Confederation College is continually moving forward with new ideas and initiatives that improve the sustainability of our daily operations. Our approach to sustainability is guided by Indigenous principles, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System (STARS) developed by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (ASSHE).
