Student Success and Accommodations

Student Success has retained Tisha Hasan from Cheadles LLP to deliver a presentation to college employees on accommodations (accessibility plans in the classroom) under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”), 2005, S.O. 2005, c. 11, and Ontario’s Human Rights Code(“OHRC”), R.S.O. 1990, c. H. 19. We have asked that she focus on the following questions:

1. When should accommodations be provided to post-secondary students?
2. When do you know if reasonable accommodations been offered? 
3. What are the liabilities for failing to provide accommodations?

The presentation will be held on March 23, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in Room D322.
