Confederation College Thunderhawks golfer Nathan Lepore capped off an exceptional season with an impressive performance at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) National Golf Championships, held last week at Desert Blume Golf Course near Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Lepore, a student in the College’s Business Marketing program, finished fourth overall out of 47 competitors in the men’s individual championship, posting an even-par score of 288 over four rounds. After a challenging start with a 76 (+4), he rebounded with three consecutive under-par rounds, showcasing his consistency, focus, and ability to perform under pressure.
Lepore was also the top finisher from the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA), navigating the demanding course, known for its desert-like terrain and shifting winds, with composure and technical precision.
“I had a rough start to the tournament, battling through tough conditions,” said Nathan Lepore, Confederation College Thunderhawks golfer. “Once I settled in, I played steady golf the rest of the way. I’m proud of how I stayed patient and finished strong. It’s an incredible honour to be recognized nationally, and I’m thankful to Coach Evan Littlefield for his support throughout the week.”
Lepore’s success follows his historic gold medal win at the OCAA Provincial Championships earlier this fall, the first in Confederation College history.
