Confederation College Marks 5 Years of Student Refugee Program
Posted:
Confederation College is proud to mark the fifth anniversary of its involvement in the Student Refugee Program (SRP), an initiative that provides refugee students with access to postsecondary education and the opportunity to build a future in Canada. The program is supported through College funding and a student-approved levy.
To recognize this milestone, media are invited to hear directly from students and staff who have been involved. Led nationally by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), the SRP is a unique initiative that combines resettlement with education. Confederation College is proud to be among several Northern Ontario institutions engaged in the program. Over the past five years, the College community has sponsored, welcomed, and supported six refugee students from across Africa and the Middle East as they begin new lives in Thunder Bay.
