Confederation College Launches its Railway Conductor Program

(THUNDER BAY, ON – February 20, 2024) – Confederation College is proud to announce the relaunch of its Railway Conductor program through Workforce Development. This 12-week program is designed to equip individuals with the skills they need for road or yard service train crews in North America.

 

Railway conductors are responsible for carrying out specific instructions detailing a train’s schedule and specific movements; handling the switching of cars, connecting and disconnecting cars, riding moving equipment to the effect the switching of rail movement in yard operations and more. This program follows Railway Alliance Canada standards and practices to ensure graduates are ready for the job market.

 

Upon completion of the program, graduates can look forward to lucrative career prospects, with starting salaries averaging around $80,000 per year. The program not only offers a pathway to a fulfilling career but also provides a stable and financially rewarding future for its graduates.
