Deborah Shannon is a Professor of Communications. She is passionate about helping students build the strong literacy, critical thinking and cross-cultural communication skills necessary for their success as leaders in their workplace and in our community.
Deborah has taught a variety of language and communication courses in Canada and overseas.
She now teaches for the School of Business, Hospitality, and Media Arts, where her high energy classes give students the skills and confidence to tackle reading and writing assignments across disciplines.
Deborah holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts, English Literature, from Lakehead University, a CELTA from Cambridge, and an Editing Certificate from Simon Fraser University.
She has completed the Aboriginal Canadian Relations and Instructional Skills Workshop Certificates and was awarded the inaugural Innovation in Teaching Award at Confederation College.
