Andrew Phillips – Associate Dean, Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship, and School College Work Initiative

Andrew Phillips is the Associate Dean for Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship, and School College Work Initiative at Confederation College’s School of Engineering Technology, Trades and Apprenticeship. A proud alumnus of Confederation College, Andrew holds an Instrumentation Engineering Technician Diploma and a Welding Certificate. He also earned a Technical Vocational Teacher Education Diploma from Red River College.

Andrew brings over 25 years of hands-on trades experience and progressive leadership to his role. He is a licensed Master Electrician and holds multiple journeyperson certifications, including Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A), Industrial Electrician (442A), and Industrial Instrument Mechanic (447A). He maintains professional designations with both the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) and the Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM).

His background includes classroom experience as an Electrical Trades Instructor with the Louis Riel School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A strong advocate for Northern Ontario trades training, Andrew is passionate about expanding skilled trades education and fostering career pathways for students across the region.
