How does my student apply to college?

Students apply online through the Ontario Colleges application portal at www.ontariocolleges.ca. The application fee is paid online by Visa or Mastercard, or by sending a cheque or money order directly to OCAS.

Encourage your student to explore Confederation College programs to find what interests them. If they are unsure or have questions, Recruitment Officers are available to help. Book an appointment Recruitment or Call 807-475-6335 for assistance.

Before applying, students should review the admission requirements for each program they are interested in. If requirements are not met, Preparatory Studies programs may be an option.

How much information can the College share about my student’s records?

The College cannot share information about a student without their consent, even if you are paying tuition or other costs such as residence fees.

Students can authorize a parent or supporter to access information by completing the Release of Information Form.

What scholarships, bursaries and awards are available?

Confederation College offers a wide range of scholarships, bursaries and awards for both new and returning students. Details about eligibility, application processes and deadlines are available through Financial Aid.

How much does tuition cost, and how do payments work?

Once registered, students can view their account balance by logging into the College Information System, the College’s secure online student portal. For help logging in, contact the Help Desk at 807-475-6488.

Is on-campus residence available?

Yes. Confederation College offers residence buildings on campus.

What parking and transit options are available, including the U-Pass?

The College offers electrified and non-electrified parking spaces, metered parking areas, and bicycle parking. More information can be found here

Full-time students receive a U-Pass, a universal transit pass that allows unlimited use of Thunder Bay Transit during the academic year. City buses are equipped with bike racks, and the campus is connected to a network of multi-use paths.

Can my student study online or from their home community?

Students have several study options, including on-campus, online and distance education delivery. Some programs and courses are offered fully online or at regional locations.

Confederation College also has campuses in Dryden, Kenora, Fort Frances, Red Lake, Marathon, Sioux Lookout, Geraldton and Wawa.

What is available at the Confederation College Bookstore?

The Confederation College Bookstore, operated by Follett, serves students, faculty, staff and the public. It offers new and used textbooks, general interest books, school supplies, Confederation College apparel and College merchandise.

When do classes begin and end?
