This course presents students with theories, terminology, and applications underlying current approaches to teamwork and working with the families of children with autism spectrum disorders are explored. The focus is on effective collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, which is essential to successful intensive behavioural intervention. Students develop the interpersonal, job-oriented skills necessary to problem-solve as team members in a flexible, empathetic, resourceful, and productive manner.. This course provides students with concepts of discovering and exploiting flaws in mobile applications on the iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile platforms. Students are introduced to a proven methodology for approaching mobile application assessments and the techniques used to prevent, disrupt and remediate the various types of attacks. Coverage includes data storage, cryptography, transport layers, data leakage, injection attacks, runtime manipulation, security controls, and cross-platform apps, with vulnerabilities highlighted and detailed information on the methods hackers use to get around standard security.
Students examine and discover computer forensics, operating systems and how they function. Students are introduced to forensic tools along with concepts such as chain of custody and documentation of evidence/procedures. Students evaluate how to conduct a high-tech investigation, from acquiring digital evidence to reporting its findings. This course contains mandatory group work. Students explore the evolution of wired networks to wireless networking and its impact on the corporate world. Using case studies and real-world events, the student discusses risk assessments, threats, and vulnerabilities of wireless networks, as well as the security measures that should be put in place to mitigate breaches. Students will look at the policies and procedures in place and a glimpse ahead at the future of wireless and mobile device security.
Students examine the realm of network security, spotlighting the latest threats and vulnerabilities. The students address how and why people attack computers and networks--equipping them with the knowledge and techniques to successfully consider methods of combating hackers. Pre-requisite: OL463 Linux, Firewalls and VPN's
This course integrates the knowledge and skills students have obtained throughout the program. Emphasis is placed on security policy, process planning, procedure definition, business continuity, and systems security architecture. Upon completion, students are able to design and implement comprehensive information security architecture from the planning and design phase through presentation of the final product. Pre-requisites: OL458 Operating Systems Security and OL454 Security Policies.
This course will introduce you to the practice of occupational health nursing as well as the ethical, professional and legal issues and guidelines which form the basis of occupational health nursing practice. Students will acquire basic skills in the identification of health and safety hazards in the workplace as well as activities which promote employee health and safety. Pre-requisite - Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN or RPN OR registered in the jurisdiction where you live.

Indigenous Perspectives for Library and Information Technicians
Engage with a variety of Indigenous perspectives, challenges, and opportunities and how they relate to the work done by Library Information Technicians in a range of fields, including public, academic, and special libraries. Examine how past and ongoing realities of settler-colonialism impact library services for Indigenous Peoples.
This course will introduce the foundations of ethical thinking and will review the different perspectives and rationale for ethical decision-making within a behavioural framework. Students will be introduced to professional codes of ethics that are essential for ethical practice. They will learn how to think critically and apply general ethical principles to particular situations through the use of case studies, practice vignettes, structured exercises and group discussions. This course will provide participant with the basis for developing ethical guidelines for practice, examining areas related to legislative acts, an overview of the BACB® guidelines of responsible conduct for a behaviour analyst and the ONTABA/ABA standards of practice. Students will also learn how to evaluate their own professional expertise and limitations for ongoing professional development planning.

In this course, the student will be introduced to a variety of procedures used to assess and treat challenging behaviours presented by individuals with autism / Autism Spectrum Disorder. The topics covered will include functional behavioural assessment and functional analysis and scientifically validated techniques for the treatment of challenging behaviours, e.g., stereotypy, pica, aggression, self-injury, etc. Emphases will be placed on ethical considerations such as the utilization of the least intrusive, least restrictive model and “effective treatment”. Techniques covered will include antecedent control strategies, schedules of reinforcement, extinction, differential reinforcement strategies, social stories, desensitization procedures, and decelerative procedures.
