I chose this program and Confederation College because it was more effective with the Indigenous aspects of social work. It was also closer to my “home” in Longlac.
How Confederation College Has Changed My life
As a broad perspective, just continuing my education impacted my life, opening new doors and closing existing ones. But choosing Confederation College has changed my life around. I wasn't feeling ready to leave “home,” but I did anyways. This move taught me to challenge myself and improve my independence skills. In reality, few people are willing to actually make big steps, so I was proud of myself to have made such a life-changing decision.

When I started first year, Pam Burton was one of my teachers for a few of my classes and I understood her teaching which was so great! But going into second year I had a struggle that year and I thought I wasn't going to graduate on time. She helped me to make it happen. I couldn't thank her enough!

I am working at Aboriginal Head Start as teacher assistant, observing and teaching children 6 months to 12 years old.
