Confederation College website redesign earns two international MarCom Gold Awards
By Scott Hobbs

Confederation College has earned two Gold Awards in the 2026 MarCom Awards for its new website, recognizing a redesign focused on making College information easier for prospective and current students to find and use.
The College received Gold in the Educational Institution category for A Student-Focused Digital Experience(opens in new window) and in the Redesign category for Website Redesign 2026(opens in new window).
The website was designed and developed entirely by Confederation College’s Marketing and Communications team, led by Web Development Lead Mike Koval with support from Junior Web Developer Kosha Shah. Development began in 2025 and the new site launched in August 2026.
“This recognition reflects the expertise we have within our Marketing and Communications team and the care that went into building a website around the needs of our users,” said Alexandra Jones, Director, Marketing and Communications. “Our website is often one of the first places prospective students interact with Confederation College. We wanted to make that experience clear, accessible and easy to navigate while creating a platform our team can continue to improve over time.”
The redesign focused on making information easier to find, improving the experience across desktop and mobile devices, and creating a more consistent approach to how content is managed across the website.
The redesign included a new approach to program pages, navigation and mobile use to make it easier for prospective students to move from exploring programs to finding the information they need to apply.
Program information is now managed centrally, helping keep important details such as courses and fees consistent and current. The new site also includes reusable design elements and accessibility testing to support a consistent and accessible experience across different devices.
“We approached the project by looking at how people actually use the website and how we could make information easier to find and maintain,” said Mike Koval, Web Development Lead. “Building it internally also gives us the flexibility to continue improving the site as the needs of our students and College community evolve.”
The MarCom Awards are an international competition recognizing achievement in marketing and communication. About 6,000 print and digital entries are submitted annually from dozens of countries. The competition is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. marcomawards
