Industrial Electronic Applications I

This course introduces the operation, application, measurement, and troubleshooting of electronic devices and circuits used in industrial equipment and control systems. Students develop practical skills using electronic test and measurement instruments to characterize and apply BJTs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, SCRs, TRIACs, relays, and optically isolated circuits. Topics include semiconductor switching and gate-drive requirements, relay operation and industrial control circuits, AC power control, phase-angle control, snubber circuits, optical isolation, EMI powerline filtering, and applicable IEC requirements. Fundamental operational amplifier circuits, including comparators, voltage followers, amplifiers, differentiators, and integrators, are also investigated through practical circuit measurement, and waveform analysis.
