Communication in Nursing
The learner will explore and understand the foundational concepts of therapeutic nurse-client relationships to foster person-centered care. Through analyzing group processes and functions, the learner will explore communication strategies, reporting methods, role clarification, delegation, and interprofessional collaboration to aid in the development and sustainment of professional relationships required for nursing practice. Strategies to mitigate confrontation and conflict resolution are explored through a de-escalation approach. The learner will be able to understand alternative methods of communication, communication for palliative care, and technology support for communication.
