Contrasting Education System in India vs Canada
At first I was skeptical about the education system in Canada. In India, we have annual examinations, but in Canada, there is a continuous evaluation system. Unlike annual examinations which are based solely on one-day performance, the system in Canada provides constant opportunities for development and evaluations. My experience with the continuous evaluation system was pragmatic. It showed me that learning can be fun and much less stressful for students.
About Coming to Thunder Bay, Canada
It was hard for me to leave my family and friends behind, but I was able to keep in touch with people back home via social media (Facebook, FaceTime, etc.)
The environment in Confederation College is multicultural and helped me to feel at home very quickly. People in Thunder Bay accept international students as a part of their community. The continuous assessments helped me to understand subjects thoroughly and it created less stress. I had researched a lot about the course and the college. The reputation and the quality of education at Confederation College made me pursue my higher studies here. The people are so welcoming and professors are very friendly. The staff provide constant encouragement and support. The entire study environment makes it easy for students to acquire new knowledge and skills.
