This program was an important turning point in my life. Now when I look back on my decision, I realize that it was the best decision of my life.
I arrived in Canada with a degree in the healthcare field and was trained internationally as a nurse, but I had to overcome some hurdles to learn about nursing practices in Canada in order to become a "registered nurse."
This one year program provides a firm base to those who wish to continue their healthcare career at an administrative level. The program provides you with a basis to be ready to embrace the opportunities that arise in the future. This program enabled me to meet with a variety of people who are a part of Canada’s healthcare sector. I have learned much about the administrative side of Canada’s health care sector and how things are done in Canada.
During my struggles to become a registered nurse, I received immense support and help from the Program Coordinator, Nadine Doucette, who not only introduced me to different opportunities, but also stood by me in my endeavours. I also learned from other faculty members who were well versed in their field of teaching, equally helpful and were excellent references when I needed them to pursue job prospects.
Now I am successfully working as a nurse at St Joseph’s Care Group Hospital and I am thankful to all the people who have enlightened me and shown me the right path.
I would definitely recommend the Leadership for Healthcare program.
