Taking this program through Distance Education in Dryden has helped many adult students like myself become certified PSWs.

What I Liked Most About Thunder Bay
To accelerate my learning, I started my second semester by moving to the Thunder Bay campus and loved it. Thunder Bay is a really beautiful city with an old and new mixture. Lake Superior is amazing and can be viewed from so many outlooks ... truly inspiring. Thunder Bay will always be a very special for me.
Other Things I Liked - The Cafeteria & SUCCI Events
I love the cafeteria, and how it is laid out.
I also liked the various Student Union (SUCCI) events that take place frequently in such a big way. The Student Union really does make the place buzz with activity. I watched a Canadian movie on the big screen one day and was so amazed that they even had popcorn ... truly great!
A Teacher Who Made a Difference in my Learning
In one class, the topic of the day was particularly difficult for me. Near the end of the class my teacher Tamara Mroz pulled me aside and talked very compassionately with me and then she actually brought me down to the Counseling office at the College that I had never walked into before. We talked to the wonderful secretary and I booked a very much needed appointment. My classes have helped me tremendously and just knowing that the teacher, the secretary, and the counselor all cared was enough for me to know I was truly in the right place. Tamara Mroz is a very personable teacher, with a lot of knowledge and insight into the PSW world, and the nursing world. She is doing her very best to prepare us for the world outside of the College doors and I have utmost respect for all of her personal conversations with us as students, as we do ask a lot of questions.
