What I Liked Most About Confederation College
So far in my one year as an MRT student I have enjoyed my classes a lot. Though my program is difficult, I find it very engaging and hands-on. It is clear that my teachers want us to succeed, but also be able to prove we can be successful MRT's in the future. My two main teachers have made this year's college experience the best one I have had yet. First semester was very difficult for me, but through the great advice of my teachers and students in further years, second semester has been my best semester yet. I could have never come this far without the help from my teachers and councilor. Any advice I have for future students? If you are even a little nervous about school or a class, talk to your teachers, they will have some of the best advice for you. If you have bad time-management skills, get nervous for tests very easily, have a high demand program that takes up a LOT of your time, are battling through some personal or mental issues, or even if you just want someone to talk to, GET A COUNSELOR, I can guarantee you they will be able to help you throughout the year in making the best possible choices for you. I can 100% thank my counselor for getting me through the toughest times of my life in the past year. I would not be where I am today without him.

I would like to get a job up in the Northwest Territories as an MRT. While up there I want to study to upgrade to CT and learn American Sign Language.

My Advice to Future Students Thinking About Attending Confederation College
Get a counselor, they are the best for helping you make decisions and focusing on what is important in your life. They will help you become the person you want to be through making choices. Even if you are a little nervous about a class or subject, TALK TO YOUR TEACHERS. They will be able to give the best advice possible.

Teachers Who Made a Difference in my Learning
Melanie Edison and Nancy Hodder are the kind of teachers I have never encountered in my years of learning. They want us to succeed. Not in the kind of way that they will give you marks you don't deserve. But they will ensure you that they have helped in every way possible to do the best you can in their classes. They provide tremendous support, advice and extra worksheets to practice, practice, practice. Without Melanie and Nancy, I would not be where I am in my program today.
Darryl has been my counselor and he has taught me a lot this year. He's the ONLY counselor that has ever actually taken the time and interest in helping me. He's never judged ANYTHING I have told him, he's never told me WHAT I need to do, just pointed me in the direction I should be on when I'm starting to lose my track. He promotes me to do well and organize my time in a way I can achieve great things in my learning. Without him, I would not have been able to juggle my work, personal, mental and learning aspects of my life. I can 100% say if I did not sign up for a counselor this year, I would have not have been able to keep my priorities in proper perspective.
