Hello, my name is Carmela Welshman, and I am from Weagamow Lake also known as North Caribou Lake and Round Lake. I am a graduate of the Practical Nursing Program.

As an Indigenous woman from Northwestern Ontario, my dream of becoming a nurse started when I was a little girl living on a First Nation. It was not easy, but I had the support of family, friends, Professors, and Clinical Instructors. If you are thinking of attending the Practical Nursing Program, I highly recommend Confederation College. Confederation College will provide you with the tools that you will need, to be successful in the program and on your way to becoming a confident, competent, and compassionate Practical Nurse.
