Role & Responsibilities

As the Lead Integration Facilitator, Rose Hankkio is the initial point of contact for the Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE) program and provides leadership to the Integration Facilitators on a day to day basis as they work to advocate, intervene and act on behalf of CICE students with faculty, other College students, and College-wide services. As Program Coordinator, she leads student recruitment and selection processes, responds to inquiries about the CICE program from potential students and stakeholders, and is a liaison on all matters relating to program delivery and coordination.

Professional Background

Rose has 20 years' experience working in the Developmental Services field. Since 2012, Rose has worked at Confederation College in the CICE program, supporting student success through individualized guidance in inclusive and supporting learning environments. She has served as an Employment Advisor with Northwest Employment Works, where she assisted job seekers with career exploration, job preparation, and connected them with employment and community resources. As a Student Success Advisor in Academic Upgrading, she supported learners in overcoming barriers to education, creating pathways toward further education, training, and meaningful employment. Rose is a graduate of the Developmental Services Worker program at Confederation College, where she was the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal. She also completed a Bachelor of Administration Degree at Lakehead University.

Rose strives to create a student-focused experience where learners feel valued, included, and empowered to succeed. Her approach centers on building strong relationships with students, understanding their unique strengths and goals, and encouraging confidence and personal growth.
