Kristina Baraskewich is a faculty member at Confederation College who teaches marketing subjects connected to industry practice, writing, and professional development. Passionate about higher education and student success, Kristina is known for creating an engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
Kristina values building meaningful relationships with students and alumni and enjoys helping students strengthen their writing skills and develop ideas that connect academic learning with real-world industry experience. Working closely with students allows her to stay connected to the evolving needs of higher education and the perspectives of emerging professionals.
Through teaching, Kristina focuses on providing students with practical, relevant knowledge that supports their transition into the workforce. One of the most rewarding aspects of the role is hearing from graduates who share how classroom discussions, course concepts, and industry insights have helped them succeed in their careers.
Despite the challenges that can come with academic life, Kristina considers teaching one of the most rewarding professions because of the opportunity to inspire students, pursue meaningful ideas, and contribute to student growth and long-term success
With more than 20 years of experience in the marketing industry, Kristina brings practical industry knowledge and real-world insight into the classroom. She is also a graduate of Confederation College and Lakehead University.
Courses taught include MK420 Market Research, MK505 Fundraising & Events, MK439 Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC), and MK336 Social Media & Digital Marketing. Through these courses, Kristina encourages students to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply marketing concepts to real industry challenges and opportunities. She also prides herself on maintaining strong industry connections and regularly bringing industry partners and real-world projects into the classroom. These hands-on learning opportunities provide students with practical experience, exposure to current industry practices, and opportunities to work on projects that reflect real workplace expectations.
Kristina’s teaching approach emphasizes engagement, creativity, and practical learning. A strong supporter of student growth and development, she values creating an interactive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to share ideas, strengthen their writing and communication skills, and build confidence in their professional abilities.
